Remote Learning Y6C
In year 6C, the children have been absolutely fantastic in their remote learning journey so far and I am so proud of the journey they have been on so far! In English, the children have produced an emotive narrative story about World War II, letters home to wives from the war and also some phenomenal instructions on how to build an Anderson Shelter, which the children are very much looking forward to building! Furthermore, the children have explored a plethora of mathematical subject areas, with a particular enjoyment of algebra and angles!
Our topic this half term is World War II and I can honestly say it has been brilliant to have shared the learning journey with the children so far. I have loved the passion, enthusiasm and empathy the children have shown for a subject that can often be quite sensitive, underlining their undoubted level of maturity. Our class text, Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, has driven a lot of the learning that we have undertaken and the children are really enjoying the story, with a particular fondness of the main character - Bruno!
I can't really put into words how proud I am of ALL of the children in 6C and the maturity, effort & enthusiasm they have shown for their learning is something that I applaud them for.
Some feedback from parents -
I just wanted to add my thanks to how much effort has been put in by the team at East Garforth this week to move to online learning so quickly.
M has been really engaged with the online classes and it’s great that she can do her lessons and see her teachers and friends whilst feeling safe at home.
She has also had some lovely feedback on class dojo from Mr C, which is brilliant considering he has 30 children to reply to!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all the home learning provision that the teachers have been providing today. I know Sophia has completed it in school, but the quality and communication between school and home about the home learning has been excellent and I can’t thank the teachers enough.
know a lot of the other parents are full of praise for how well you have adapted to home learning and I really feel as if the children are getting a quality education, in very testing times. In the space of less than 24 hours , teachers have planned and produced an excellent package of home learning materials and really thought carefully about the needs of the children.
Thank you for all your hard work this week. There has been lots of very positive feedback from all of the parents. We really appreciate everything you are doing.
You’ve all done an amazing job and I know that all the parents are very impressed with the online learning too. Well done and thank you for everything that you are doing – it is much appreciated.
Just a quick message to say thank you for teaching A under these circumstances. It’s not what any of us signed up for but I really do appreciate it and I know it’s not easy at all. I have briefly looked at what is set to be taught, but I genuinely just haven’t had the time to properly digest it. Amelia is, so far, settled and happy to go which is more than we can ask for.
Just want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the staff at East Garforth school for all your hard work and dedication it is truly appreciated.
